Major Security upgrade brought to the The Scouting Web Project
Written by Jake Knight Friday, 04 February 2011 22:26
As of today, our clients' website will be a little bit safer.
After working with the developers at RSJoomla!, to ensure the best quality security projection, we have selected their RSFirewall to protect all of our Joomla! installations, including our Scout Council websites.
This server-side protection steps up the default security of Joomla! and addresses a wide, and ever growing list of potential weaknesses. Because our sites, make use of many third-party integrations, it is difficult to maintain a complete understanding of the vulnerabilities that may exist.
Using the expertise of the RSJoomla! team, we feel confident in maintaining a safe and secure online experience for our clients and their site visitors.

Feature Alert: Now integrate Google Docs directly into your content pages!
Written by Jake Knight Monday, 31 January 2011 14:03
By special request, we've now added a new feature that supports Google Docs directly within a content page.
Why is this important? Imagine having a document, spreadsheet or presentation to you or your staff continually updates, like a District Organization Chart.
Well now they can update that document on their local computer or even collaborate with several staff members of volunteers and the updated document will be automatically displayed on the website.
This is a great tool for Scouters who need to manage any activity, event, or program that needs to publicly display content that may change frequently.
The added functionality of collaboration makes this tool an imperative resource for today's Scouting professional.
